Technical Maintenance Supervisor

 

HIK Abalone Farm

Hermanus

The role of technical maintenance supervisor is to ensure maximum availability and efficiency of all farm equipment and machinery by ensuring that routine checks and maintenance programs are conducted.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least 3 years’ experience performing in a technical and maintenance environment
  • Good leadership skills with at least 3 years supervisory experience
  • Experience and knowledge of welding
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge and working experience of gensets, blowers and pumps
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Key Outputs:

  • Lead and manage a small team of employees
  • Ensure that all checks on equipment and machinery is conducting daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Record keeping and sign off of all routine checks are kept up to date
  • Ensure that all projects, maintenance and repairs are done according to the laid down procedures and manual process.
  • Ensure that all employees abide by the Safety rules and regulations and company policies and procedures of the company

Split Station Supervisor

The role of split station supervisor is to ensure that splitting, weighing and recording of animal mass is correctly recorded and the handling of the abalone is done with complete care in order to ensure minimal damage and disruption to the abalone.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least 3 years’ supervisory experience
  • Excellent knowledge and previous experience working in the abalone industry
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Key Outputs:

  • Lead and manage a team of split station employees
  • Ensure that the basket movement planning is scheduled and understood and adhered to
  • Ensure that recording of weight, batches and back to farm information is accurate at all times
  • Daily clean up and checks are done everyday
  • Employees adhered to the company policies and health and safety procedures
  • Monitor performance of the station and employees daily and give monthly feedback
  • Liaise with the data management personnel to ensure that the capturing of information collected through the splitting process is correct.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least 3 years’ working experience of which a min of 2 years in the abalone industry.
  • Knowledge and previous experience working in the abalone industry
  • Computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Physically healthy (as the position is extremely physical)

 

Key Outputs:

  • Perform daily tasks as per the JD for each department
  • Ensure that the tasks are performed well and completed daily
  • Ensure that targets are met and daily checks are signed off
