Our product range currently includes:

Live abalone

Abalone ranging in size from 50g – 150g are packed to the specifications of our clients and shipped to Asian markets where they arrive alive after a journey of up to 50 hours. HIK Abalone Farm's high quality live abalone rank among the finest in the world, and forms the basis of a top-end niche market. The majority of HIK’s abalone are destined for the live markets in Asia.

Canned abalone

Abalone are canned at SPP in Hermanus. Consignments of cans containing anything between 4 – 20 pieces of abalone, with a drained weight of 213g, are produced on a weekly basis. Cans produced at the SPP plant are deemed to be of superior quality, and SPP is the sole supplier of canned SA abalone to Diamond Brand, a highly sought after brand among Asian consumers.

Dried abalone

Abalone are dried at SPP Canning using traditional drying techniques developed with customers to ensure optimal palatability for consumers. Bigger abalone are set aside for the dried market, where there is a significant demand for 16g+ dried weight.

Frozen abalone

A small portion of HIK Abalone Farm's stock is used to produce a frozen product. Abalone are frozen using a blast freezer at SPP Canning. This high quality frozen product is destined for consumption in the Japanese sashimi market.
